IVSC appoints Grant Thornton Bharat partner to Financial Instruments Board

Manish Saxena, Partner, Valuation Advisory Services, is a seasoned professional and specialises in the valuation of complex financial instruments

 

With an aim to continue its commitment towards quality and responsible standards for valuation, the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) has appointed Manish Saxena, Partner, Valuation Advisory Services, Grant Thornton Bharat, to the prestigious Financial Instruments Board.

IVSC announced appointment of four new members to the Financial Instruments Board, which is responsible for drafting and consulting on International Valuation Standards (IVS) for Financial Instruments.

On this significant appointment, Vishesh C. Chandiok, CEO, Grant Thornton Bharat, said, “Manish is amongst the best technical experts on financial instruments valuations. I’m confident he will bring a unique Indian as well as an emerging market perspective to the standard setting, helping them become both relevant and universal.”

Saxena specialises in the valuation of complex financial instruments, providing valuation advisory services to clients, along with financial restructuring and litigation. A CFA, an engineer and an MBA, with a glowing professional record, Saxena has been working with Grant Thornton Bharat for over a decade. Over the last two decades, he has worked with several reputed brands across sectors.

FIB was established in 2019 to bring together international leaders from valuation, banking and financial regulation to set internationally agreed, principles-based standards for valuing financial instruments. Apart from Saxena, the current appointees include Larry Levine, Managing Director, Lincoln International LLC, Marcus Morton, Managing Director, Valuation Services, Duff & Phelps and Stephanie Sparvero, Global Head of Bloomberg’s Evaluated Pricing Service.
