Union Budget 2021 rolled out at a difficult juncture for the Indian Economy. According to the first advance estimates, Indian Economy is expected to contract by 7.7% in 2020-21. The expectations of the industry from the government is of boosting growth and consumption. The Indian agriculture and agribusiness sector providing livelihood to about 58% of India’s population and contributing to 16% of Gross Value Added is a pivotal engine of growth. With this background, Grant Thornton Bharat hosted a panel discussion with Government and Private Sector experts to consider the impact of the Budget 2021 on the sector.
