OEMs making significant investments in hybrid and electric vehicle (xEV) supply chain

The recent push to localise manufacturing for hybrid and electric vehicles (xEV) as per the revised norms of the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles Scheme (FAME II) has encouraged automotive manufacturers to make significant investments in the local xEV supply chain. The OEMs are all geared up to establish EV battery plants in the country and are expected to follow the Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP) under FAME II and progress towards localisation.

This edition of Auto Bytes covers the significant investments made by OEMs in the xEV supply chain. We look forward to seeing how batteries made in the country support the government’s goals of vehicle electrification, renewable energy integration and job growth, and speed the global transition to a clean energy economy.
