Grant Thornton Bharat is the Knowledge Partner for the one-day workshop on ‘Introduction and adoption of biomass for green steam and heat applications in MSMEs’, being organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

The workshop will also mark the launch of the report 'Decarbonising MSMEs: Leveraging biomass for green steam and heat applications', which examines the role of biomass in supporting MSMEs’ transition to cleaner and more efficient thermal energy solutions. As the Knowledge Partner, we have supported the development of the report and the design of the workshop agenda, with a focus on practical pathways for biomass adoption.

The discussions at the workshop will cover key elements of the biomass value chain, including supply chain management, best practices in biomass densification manufacturing, and effective downstream utilisation of biomass pellets and briquettes. The workshop aims to facilitate informed dialogue among policymakers, industry stakeholders and experts to advance biomass-led decarbonisation across MSMEs.
