Labour Law Insights - August 2024

Key highlights

• Employers in Kerala, Maharashtra and Odisha shall follow the revised rates of minimum wages as applicable to them pursuant to the notifications issued by their labour departments.
• The Department of Labour, Rajasthan, has introduced an online dashboard to enhance the ease of doing business.
• The Puducherry Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules, 2024, have been implemented, ensuring non-discrimination and access to social welfare schemes for transgender individuals.
• The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced several updates in August 2024, which cover SOPs for transaction-less and inoperative accounts in EPFO, online system for the employers having exempted PF trust and revision in the rate of damages.
