The challenge

How can large-scale programmes be designed and implemented effectively across a diverse ecosystem?

The institution was responsible for implementing multiple nationwide programmes aimed at strengthening value addition, infrastructure, and enterprise participation across the sector. This required consistent scheme design, robust appraisal and due diligence mechanisms, effective implementation frameworks, and coordination across multiple stakeholders. Ensuring alignment between policy objectives, on-ground execution, and stakeholder participation, while maintaining transparency, scalability, and long-term impact, was critical to achieving sector-wide outcomes.

How we helped

Providing end-to-end advisory across programme design, appraisal, and implementation

We acted as a long-term strategic and implementation advisor, supporting programme conceptualisation, appraisal, and rollout across multiple initiatives. Our work included scheme design inputs, technical and financial due diligence, infrastructure gap assessments, and implementation support. We enabled capacity building for implementing agencies and beneficiaries, supported enterprise-level interventions in select regions, and facilitated convergence across departments and stakeholders. In parallel, we led communication and outreach initiatives to enhance programme visibility, participation, and industry engagement, ensuring effective adoption and execution.

The results

Stronger institutions, improved access, and sustained sector impact

The engagement strengthened institutional capacity, enabling smoother and more effective implementation across programme lifecycles. Improved coordination between public and private stakeholders unlocked efficiencies across the value chain, while enterprises benefited from better access to infrastructure, finance, and markets. The initiatives enhanced competitiveness and resilience across the sector and contributed to shaping a more structured, inclusive, and sustainable long-term growth framework.

In the new age AI world, the industry focus is not only about new investments but to create efficiencies, which vary from supply chain efficiencies, reaching to farmers, to the operational efficiencies at factories. Grant Thornton Bharat assists its clients across the value chain and builds efficiencies and savings. Different models and frameworks, including Productive Partnerships, Stewardship Councils, Factories operational assessments, Logistics Tower, Agri PV and a layer of AI, are helping us to achieve significant results and differentiate clients in the industry.
