India’s tax system is moving to the new Income‑tax Act, 2025, which will take effect on April 1, 2026, replacing the Income‑tax Act of 1961 after over 60 years. The new Act aims at simplification of language, removal of redundant provisions, reorganisation and consolidation of existing provisions.

For organisations, this will require:

  • Reworking existing processes and operating models
  • Updating systems and reporting frameworks
  • Revisiting compensation structures and tax positions
  • Coordinating communication across multiple stakeholders

Taxpayers must quickly familiarise themselves with these changes so that they are able to easily navigate through and comply with the new tax framework.

Grant Thornton Bharat is hosting a webinar to share a hands‑on perspective on the changes and what they mean for the Taxpayers.
