  • India CEO appointed to Grant Thornton International’s Board of Governors

Grant Thornton International Limited (GTIL) has announced the appointment of Vishesh C Chandiok, the CEO and National Managing Partner of Grant Thornton India LLP, to its Board of Governors (BoG) with effect from 1 January 2016. Vishesh will be the youngest person ever to be appointed to the GTIL’s BoG.

The BoG is the principal decision making authority within GTIL. The BoG's responsibilities include approving the strategic direction and policies of the firm. The BoG consists of the Global CEO, representatives from twelve countries and three independent Board members.

“I congratulate Vishesh and welcome him to the Board. Vishesh brings significant diversity of age and emerging markets experience to our Board and a strong background of having delivered substantial growth for Grant Thornton in India. We hope to leverage some of his experience as we think about our growth plans in other high growth markets,” said Scott Barnes, Non-Executive Chair of the Board of Governors, Grant Thornton International Limited.

“I am excited to have Vishesh appointed to the Board. Grant Thornton in India remains a significant member firm of Grant Thornton’s global network and Vishesh’s appointment only reaffirms our confidence in India and its potential to be one of our largest markets. I am confident that the Board will benefit from Vishesh’s experience,” said Ed Nusbaum, Global CEO, Grant Thornton.
